THE BRANDON ALLEN GROOVE BAND

London based saxophonist/composer Brandon Allen’s jazz fusion/crossover project.

Original groove, funk and fusion, incorporating elements of soul jazz, world music, film music and electronica.

Musical influences include Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Harris, John Scofield, Tom Scott, David Sanborn, The Brecker Brothers, Joshua Redman, Chick Corea Electric Band, The Meters, The Crusaders, Lalo Schifrin, Vangelis, The Yellow Jackets, Steps Ahead and David ‘Fathead’ Newman.

The group has performed at Ronnie Scott's, PizzaExpress Live, The Crypt, The 606 Club, Peggy's Skylight, Music Spoken Here, The Sound Cellar and at the Scarborough and Swanage Jazz Festivals.

Expect funky baselines, otherworldly drum grooves, soaring synthesisers, ambient moods and intricate and intoxicating sax/guitar melodies.

Brandon Allen  is one of the UK's most in demand saxophonists, working with a wide variety artists across various genres. 
He leads the Brandon Allen Quartet , Some Kinda Mean, QCBA + OMAR and the Brandon Allen Groove Band.
Saxophonist with American jazz bassist Kyle Eastwood, touring internationally.
Has performed with Eric Clapton, Paloma Faith, Omar Lyefook, Candi Staton, Camille Bertault, Gary Husband, Adam Nussbaum, Stefano Di Battista, Ibrahim Maalouf and numerous others. 

Mike Outram  is highly regarded as one of the UK's most accomplished and virtuosic guitarists.
Mike has toured and/or recorded with Carleen Anderson, Tim Garland, Chick Corea, Steven Wilson, Nikki Iles, Herbie Mann, The Cinematic Orchestra, Laura Rossi and others.

Hamish Balfour has performed with numerous artists in London, the UK and abroad.
His versatility as a musician has led to work with Incognito, Grace Jones, Odyssey, Faze Action and the live electronic project Bassically.
He is busy working on his own music, ranging from Jazz to Electronic, which has taken him on various tours around the UK and Europe. Currently he is busy writing an album of original jazz songs as well as recording and writing for various producers, including the ISM label and more recently has signed to Wagon Wheel records.

Jim Watson  has been the first call pianist/keyboardist/MD for many of the world's top artists for the last 20 years.
He has toured and recorded with likes of Katie Melua, Manu Katche, Incognito, Gary Moore, Zero 7, Marti Pellow, Sting and many others.
Jim is an extremely dynamic performer and he creates many different textural layers and rhythmic intricacies on the keyboards.

Flo Moore has performed with many established artists including Jordan Rakei, Jason Rebello, Richard Spaven, Judi Jackson, Hugh Harris (the Kooks), Pete King, Perico Sambeat, Bobby Watson, Emma Rawicz and David McAlmont. 
She has recorded on tracks featuring Frank Gambale, Chad Wackerman and Barry Finnerty and worked with Grammy award winning producer Jason Miles (Chaka Khan, Miles Davis) on two albums.
Flo’s current live projects include Jordan Rakei, Quinn Oulton, Lokki (Drew MacFarlane), The Lovers of Invention, Tomorrow’s New Quartet and Jeremy Sassoon’s MOJO. 
She was previously a member of award winning bands Ezra Collective and Nerija.

Chris Attwell  is an English electric bass player/composer born in Bournemouth, England. 
At the age of 25 he moved to Valencia (Spain) where he co-founded the jazz/fusion group Valmuz. 
Valmuz has gone on to win various musical awards across the globe including 1st place at the International Jazz Competition in Romania in 2019.
His highly fluent style and broad sonic palette is a welcome addition to the Brandon Allen Groove Band.

Jamie Murray has proven himself to be one of the most versatile and explosive drummers on the scene today.
Jamie leads 'Beat Replacement', a fiery post fusion band that has featured the likes of Dave Binney, Gary Husband, Dave Preston and Mike Janisch.
He has also performed with Robin Ford, Emma Rawicz, Zhenya Strigalev, Tim Lefebvre, Sunra Arkestra stars Knoel Scott and Cecil Brooks and many of the UK's top jazz and crossover artists.

The band is sometimes augmented to feature The Drezone on percussion, vocals and keyboards.
Dre is a vocalist, multi instrumentalist, DJ, producer and a charismatic frontman, a true force of nature!
