Widely regarded by fans and the specialized press as one of the most acclaimed guitarists in the world, Alessio
Menconi was born in Genoa (Italy) and began his career as a professional guitarist at the age of 16.
He has collaborated with numerous renowned musicians, including Paolo Conte, Billy Cobham, Jeff Berlin, and
Jimmy Cobb, and was invited to record an album with Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Hiram Bullock, and Larry Coryell.
Alessio has performed in theatres and jazz festivals in over 40 countries and has appeared on more than 50 recordings.
Legends such as John McLaughlin, Pat Martino, and Robben Ford have publicly praised his work.
A winner of several awards—including the “Gran Prix du Jazz,” the “Jazz Lighthouse Award,” and at just 23
years old, the first prize in the prestigious “Eddie Lang” competition as the best Italian jazz guitarist.
In 2012, he was the only Italian guitarist featured in a special compilation released with the national newspaper La Stampa,
titled The Greatest Guitarists in the World.
Alessio is a jazz guitar professor at the “N.Paganini” Conservatory in Genoa and also teaches through his online school.
